This one even has the “safe zone” labeled, so you don’t have to think about it! Refrigerators often have warm and cool spots. Even if your refrigerator has a temperature indicator, it’s a good idea to purchase an appliance thermometer. Refrigerator thermometers are designed to be more accurate at lower temperatures (compared to a meat or oven thermometer that is designed to be more accurate at higher temperatures). Monitor the temperature inside your refrigerator with an appliance thermometer. Other experts propose 204 BC as a more likely calibration date. In 2022 researchers proposed that the initial calibration date of the machine (not its actual date of construction) could have been 23 December 178 BC. In any case, it must have been constructed before the shipwreck, which has been dated by multiple lines of evidence to approximately 70–60 BC. The instrument is believed to have been designed and constructed by Greek scientists and has been variously dated to about 87 BC, or between 150 and 100 BC, or to 205 BC. There is speculation that a portion of the mechanism is missing and it also calculated the positions of the five classical planets. This motion was studied in the 2nd century BC by astronomer Hipparchus of Rhodes, and it is speculated that he may have been consulted in the machine's construction. This suggests that it had 37 meshing bronze gears enabling it to follow the movements of the Moon and the Sun through the zodiac, to predict eclipses and to model the irregular orbit of the Moon, where the Moon's velocity is higher in its perigee than in its apogee. In 2008, a team led by Mike Edmunds and Tony Freeth at Cardiff University used modern computer x-ray tomography and high resolution surface scanning to image inside fragments of the crust-encased mechanism and read the faintest inscriptions that once covered the outer casing of the machine. The largest gear is approximately 13 centimetres (5.1 in) in diameter and originally had 223 teeth. Four of these fragments contain gears, while inscriptions are found on many others. ![]() The device, housed in the remains of a wooden-framed case of (uncertain) overall size 34 cm × 18 cm × 9 cm (13.4 in × 7.1 in × 3.5 in), was found as one lump, later separated into three main fragments which are now divided into 82 separate fragments after conservation efforts. On, it was identified as containing a gear by archaeologist Valerios Stais. This artefact was among wreckage retrieved from a shipwreck off the coast of the Greek island Antikythera in 1901. It could also be used to track the four-year cycle of athletic games which was similar to an Olympiad, the cycle of the ancient Olympic Games. I've always felt that throttling ones aggro is a hindrance to a raid force. I will rarely, if ever, use the BP on a burn due to the risk of pulling aggro and dying. a good portion of the most difficult (raid) mobs, at least long enough to mend / FD. Earthforce is strong enough to keep you alive vs. However, as you're practically guaranteed to grab aggro, I almost always pair it with Earthforce simply to keep myself alive. The damage from the BP doesn't get amped up by anything (I think?), as such it doesn't need to be paired with anything in that regard. I talk a lot about pairing things together to maximize effectiveness. When using either of these abilities, treat it as if you're guaranteed to grab aggro. It procs based on kicks, so you'll either get a lot of them at once if you're burning with Heel and kicking a lot, or it will proc in waves as you naturally cycle through your kicks. The BP click, on the other hand, will take aggro. Ideally your tank has enough aggro that it'll only bring you up to 60%, but you never know. FPP is just a one-shot ability every 5 minutes and will usually be enough to take control of a mob on the loose. ![]() Our main aggro-generating abilities are Five Point Palm (FPP) and our breastplate (BP) click. If you're uncomfortable with being hit by whatever it is you're hitting, feign death / imitate death to lower your aggro. I'll typically use this when I'm going full-bore on a burn, but I don't rely on it to keep me safe. The cooldown on it is too long, the duration of it is too short, and the effectiveness of it is not aligned with our current aggro-generating capacity. Silent Strikes, while nice, doesn't do enough. But let's face it, happens and you're going to grab aggro. Ideally, your main tank is one that can control aggro to keep a mob properly aligned. I've kept Flying Kick and Tiger Claw in there despite them being on auto-activate (hold right click on icon, click Auto Activate) for two reasons - the first being I'm fairly lazy and haven't removed it, the second being sometimes I forget to hit autoattack and this way I'll still be able to DPS. ![]() The order of the mash key seems to matter - if you're finding that a particular ability of yours isn't being activated, it's probably due to the order of it. I use E for my mash key, and have all keys for a hotbar bound to it. We don't need more abilities, we need fewer things to figure out (Ton Po, Vehement Rage). If it's at all possible to talk shop with the devs about monks, I try to direct the discussion towards making the class easier to play overall. Played improperly, and people are curious as to why monk is a class that's played at all. Played properly, monks can be near the top of the parse on raids and in groups. I think the consolidations in the past year or two have had a good impact on the class by making it easier to play, which is going to raise the skill floor. ![]() Two equally geared monks will have wildly different parses (beyond RNG) simply because they have different styles of playing, or might not know what works with what. There are so many combinations of abilities and disciplines we have, and using the wrong one at the wrong time is going to give you sub-par results. Monk is a difficult class to play effectively. Bear in mind, this is all coming from a fully raid-geared toon, so scale accordingly. A lot of this is applicable to raids, but I'm also adding in a group perspective to it as well. This isn't the be-all end-all way to play a monk, it's just the way I play mine. As before, if there's anything that is wrong or could be done differently, by all means post it. TBL might change the game again, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. RoS has changed a bit of the game for us and I've had a few people asking about the new stuff, so I felt I should revamp the strat and consolidate some of the posts as well as my own findings. My last major post here was a little over a year ago and revolved around EoK-era strats. ![]() ![]() ![]() The term “scarcity” is derived from “escartes”, an Old Northern French word referring traditionally to a time-bound situation that has arisen from crop failures or inadequate supplies of goods necessary for life (Xenos 1989). This section provides a brief overview of key approaches such as the economic, the psychological, the interpretive and the resource-oriented to understanding scarcity in the literature. The paper broadens current understandings of scarcity and extends Vygotsky’s sociocultural theorizations in the focus on communities, the responsibilization of consumers as well as in the usage of communication modes, and suggests independent and supported consumer-driven and consumer-centered initiatives as complementary to the existing in seeking solutions to water-scarcity in developing country contexts. We finally discuss initiatives to manage water scarcity at consumer, community and industry-consumer partnership levels. ![]() We emphasize the circulation of knowledge via sociocultural interactions as pertinent to raising consciousness of natural resource scarcity. ![]() We consider the role of elite individuals such as community leaders and others well-recognized for their socio-cultural status or specialized skills in disseminating knowledge in Vygotsky’s zones of proximal development. We include these to further extend Vygotsky. Neither does Vygotsky consider how a range of communication modes including traditional or non-traditional media and technology can play an enabling role in reinforcing processes of influence. We extend Vygotsky by incorporating a responsibilization dimension in theorizations of individual development. Although Vygotsky theorizes individual learning and development in terms of influences from more knowledgeable individuals to the less knowledgeable, he does not engage so much with how individual learning and development is tied to community interests and community development. We rely on the existing literature and secondary sources of information to overview issues relating to water scarcity and the survival related challenges especially in developing country contexts with a specific focus on India. We address this lack in a socio-cultural orientation to natural resource scarcity and draw upon Vygotsky’s theorizations to do so. Current conceptualizations of and approaches to scarcity tend to be economic-focused and institution driven with understated and underemphasized sociocultural dimensions. ![]() ![]()
You will need to use two apps to complete the setup process. #Philips hue sync with movies tvDoing it this way kept issues to a minimum but, again, your mileage will vary depending on the AVR, TV and HDMI source devices. I encountered my fair share of HDMI ‘handshake’ glitches during the review period.Īlternatively, you could connect all your HDMI devices to the Sync Box and then connect the box to the TV’s spare HDMI input while keeping the TV’s ARC port connected to the AVR. ![]() Just be aware that ARC can be unreliable and adding another device between the AVR and TV chain means potentially more issues. #Philips hue sync with movies plusYou’ll also need to remember to ‘enable ARC bypass’ within the Philips Hue Sync app.Ĭonnecting it this way means you can use your AVR’s remote to switch inputs as usual, which is a big plus since the Sync Box doesn’t come with a remote. Things get a little more complicated if you’re using an AV receiver (AVR) in your setup. With your video inputs connected to the receiver rather than your TV, you could connect the receiver’s HDMI video-out cable to one of the Hue Play’s inputs. The HDMI Sync Box works with any connected streaming device or games console Setup It does, however, support voice commands via Google Assistant, Siri and Amazon Alexa. This means that you will need to resort to using the Philips Hue Sync app for changing inputs and adjusting the brightness of the lights. While the Sync Box boasts automatic HDMI switching, it isn’t particularly reliable. There is an option to program key functions to a regular IR remote such as the one that comes with your television but I couldn’t get this working. Sadly, the HDMI Sync Box doesn’t include a physical remote. The Sync Box’s power brick smartly comes with two extra power outputs so you connect the Gradient Light Strip and another Hue light without taking up additional power points. I was able to easily pair this up with the HDMI Sync Box to complete the look. I already had a regular Hue Colour Lightstrip plastered behind an entertainment unit located directly below the wall-mounted TV. Installation is a breeze with the included plastic brackets that stick onto the back of your TV, enabling the Gradient Lightstrip to be piped along the top and sides.ĭisappointingly, the Gradient Lightstrip won’t cover the bottom side of the TV so you’ll want to augment it with another Hue light to avoid having a large dark void below the TV. The Gradient Lightstrip is much thicker than a regular Hue Colour Lightstrip outputting a whopping 1100 lumens. I tested out the 55-inch Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip which also comes in 65 and 75-inch variants to match the size of your television. ![]() You won’t find any lights included in the box and at the bare minimum you will need either a ‘Hue Play Gradient Light strip’ or a pair of ‘Hue Play Light Bars’. You’ll want to make sure you have an unobstructed flat white wall behind the television for it to work effectively, so it’s not an ideal option for televisions located in a corner position, for example. #Philips hue sync with movies fullThe HDMI Sync Box essentially maps portions of the image on screen to different lights, so you need a spread of lights around the rear of the screen, as well as ideally elsewhere in your home theatre to get the full surround lighting effect. The Sync Box does an impressive job of matching Hue lights with the action onscreen that never fails to pull you in For this reason, streaming apps built into the TV won’t work with the Light Sync effect. ![]() The content passing through the Sync Box is rapidly analysed and seamlessly translated to flashes of colour on any connected Hue light. On the surface, the HDMI Sync Box looks like a fancy HDMI splitter consisting of four HDMI inputs for connecting source devices like a streaming box, blu-ray player and a games console as well as a single HDMI out for connecting to your TV. You’re also going to need to invest in either a set of Hue Play Light Bars or a Gradient Light strip to slap on to the back of your TV, in addition to a Hue Bridge (if you don’t already own one) for all this to work. It all adds up to a steep price, so is it worth the investment? Installation This impressively matches on-screen content with your Hue lights. We’ve all heard of surround sound, but what about surround lighting? Philips is looking to take the TV viewing experience to the next level with the Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. ![]() ![]() So, why would you want unreliable tables? The truth is that, under some specific circumstances, you don't care that much. Furthermore, it is also used for replication by Compose for a failover, but if you make a table unlogged when you create it, writes to it will never be copied to the secondary server, so if a failover happens, the secondary server will always come up with completely empty tables. However, the Write-Ahead Logging ( WAL) system is a key component of what makes Postgres reliable. What makes writing a lot faster is that the logging daemon is disabled entirely for the table that is flagged as UNLOGGED. Any indexes created on an unlogged table are automatically unlogged as well. The contents of an unlogged table are also not replicated to standby servers. However, they are not crash-safe: an unlogged table is automatically truncated after a crash or unclean shutdown. (.)
